Staff Accountant

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team.
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for performing various accounting tasks, including financial report interpretation, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting knowledge and proficiency in Excel.

Responsibilities: - Reconcile various subsidiary accounts - Prepare and post general ledger entries - Prepare monthly sales tax filings for each service area - Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports - Assist with work orders, retirements, property records and inventory controls - Close work orders to plant including capitalization - Assist with year-end audit preparations - This person is backup for the billing department.
Requirements: - Associates degree in Accounting or Finance - Strong knowledge of technical accounting principles and financial concepts - Proficiency in Excel - Utility experience helpful but not required - Excellent customer service skills - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to work independently and meet deadlines We offer competitive compensation with excellent benefit package.
