JOB What You Will Be DoingEnsure that the office and its staff have everything needed to perform their essential job functions.
Maintain organizational balance through effective recruitment, onboarding, training, advocacy, and project delegation.

The incumbent will act as a liaison between the Juneau Civil Division office and many other units: the Criminal and Admin Services Divisions; the Alaska Court System; IT; Facilities; Procurement; Vendors; etc.
The duties are very administrative in nature, however knowledge of the legal system is a key trait of the position.

The Working Environment You Can ExpectThis position has a private office in the Dimond Courthouse and supports personnel across 5 floors.
The duties balance physically maintaining the office with regular desk work.

Managing Human Resources: Plans, distributes, coordinates, and monitors work assignments of others; evaluates work performance and provides feedback to others on their performance; ensures that staff are appropriately selected, utilized, and developed, and that they are treated in a fair and equitable manner.
Attention To Detail: sees and pays attention to details; recognizes the component parts of a procedure or object, and can verify correctness or error in an individual part or procedure.
Problem Solving: Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

Equivalent to those typically gained by: Training and/or education as a paralegal, legal assistant, legal secretary, or in criminal justice, administrative office technology, business and marketing management, entrepreneurship, office assistance, or similar fields, and/or progressively responsible experience preparing and processing legal documents and correspondence in a legal office or law enforcement environment or performing a variety of administrative support functions for an office.
Special Note: Many positions require incumbents to be able to obtain and maintain a limited government Notary and to be able to pass a criminal background check to meet security requirements for using criminal record networks such as APSIN and NCIC/NLETS.
