" This on-call position is a member of an outstanding nursing and direct care staff at the Ketchikan Pioneer Home and plays a vital role in providing person-centered care and support in a safe environment for up to forty-five (45) elders.

What you will be doing: Provide high quality care to assisted living home residents in a warm, supportive, and caring manner.
This position provides clinical and medication administration to residents and clinical support to the care teams.
Focus will be on quality resident care, the growth, development, and empowerment of health care teams, and the promotion of assisted living philosophy and statutes.

Who we are looking for: Position-specific knowledge, skills and abilities that are desired or contribute to the success in this position: Considerable knowledge and skill of the principles and practices of nursing, behavior, and needs of patients.
Ability to observe and evaluate reactions and changes in the physical behavioral and mental condition of patients and to think and act quickly in emergencies.
Ability to develop therapeutic relationships with patients.
Ability to administer treatments and medications and observe for and report adverse reactions.
Ability to maintain records and to prepare clear, concise reports.
Other Job information: This position is in support of the Pioneer Home, which is a 24-hour facility.
This Pioneer Home is an Eden Alternative facility, where the environment includes contact with plants, flowers, and pets including cats, dogs, fish, and birds.
Employees of the Pioneer Home receive continual screening for tuberculosis, criminal history and COVID-19 as required by the facility.
